BBQ Birthday Bash

My husbands birthday is coming up at the end of this month, and if you know me at all, you know I've got a part planned! Washington is funny in that, it will rain whenever it feels like it. Whether it's summer or not means nothing to beautiful and fickle Washington. But that's okay - who says a BBQ has to be outside anyways!? ....Right? Well, anyways THIS party is going to happen rain or shine folks! Here are some of my inspirations for it.

I want to make these "sliders". How fun would that be? But...how do I get such tiny buns!? Because making them myself seems a little too involved for my taste. Adorable.....but not TOO adorable for the husband. I guess I'll have to add bacon to keep it manly!

I love the idea of fruit kabobs. They are delicious, and such an easy and classy way to serve fruit. I might skip the rainbow theme seeing as my husband isn't really into rainbows. I'd probably just pick his favorite fruits and go with that! Maybe choose the fruit according to my theme...which is mostly just a "make it as manly as possible" theme.

Dan isn't a huge fan of cake (or cake pops...I still love him!!!) So instead of doing a cake, I thought I'd make him one of his favorite desserts: rice crispy treats. My sister had the genius idea (thanks to Pinterest) to make a rice cripsy treat "cake". LOVE. Leave it to Martha Stewart to come up with this gem!

If all goes as planned (and the plan is that it's actually somewhat warm) than what more refreshing drink then Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade?! It looks so delicious. I can't wait to drink it all try it. If only I had those super cute jars to serve it in....

This is my favorite salad of all time. Luckily, Dan loves it too! So guess who's getting it at his birthday party!?  Loaded Baked Potato Salad. It's heaven in a salad...really.

Well, that's the plan for the BBQ Partay. A long with a few other goodies, it should be a smashing success.  Hoping for sunshine, laughter, and a happy husband! Two of those will definitely happen!!!

Have you thrown any parties lately? Been rained out (or in...)? Tried to make tiny cheeseburgers? If you've done that let me know where to get tiny cute buns...
